Man Attends Kids Movie Totally Naked

NORTH RIVERSIDE  — A completely naked Chicago man allegedly exposed himself in front of families attending a showing of “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked” in North Riverside.

About 30 minutes into a matinée show on Dec. 29, a naked Edward L. Brown, 34, stood up in the front row and turned around. Facing the packed audience, Brown stretched out his hands and exposed his genitals for everyone to see, then sat back down, according to a report in the Riverside Brookfield Landmark.

There were 86 people in the theater at the time of the incident. North Riverside police were called to the theater and arrested Brown.

Brown told officers that he had been let inside the movie theater by a woman who told him to take off his clothes and wait for her, so they could have sex, smoke crack and do heroin, according to a police report cited by the Landmark.

Brown remains in custody, charged with three felony counts of sexual exploitation of children, a misdemeanor count of sexual exploitation of a minor and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.

Children ages 4, 6 and 14 were specifically mentioned in the charges.

Bond for Brown was set at $100,000 on Dec. 30 at the Maybrook Courthouse in Maywood, the Landmark reported. He is set to return on Monday of next week for a preliminary hearing.

The theater manager offered refunds or vouchers to another show for those who were in the theater, the Landmark reported.
