Man attacked pregnant sister over chicken nuggets, Orlando police say

ORLANDO, Florida – An Orlando man has been arrested on aggravated battery charges after police say he attacked his pregnant sister over chicken nuggets.

Kareem Gordon, 28, was arrested on Sunday night after the fight with his 25-year-old sister, who says Gordon ate her chicken nuggets without permission.

After arguing, Gordon’s sister went to her bedroom but Gordon followed behind, yelling “I will punch you down.”

Gordon then grabbed her by her neck, pushed her into a nightstand, making her fall to the ground, police said. Full Article

Teacher sends parents letter telling them their children are smelly

New York – A school teacher in New York has become so fed up of her student’s ‘unpleasant’ smells that she sent a complaint letter to the parents.

The handwritten note from the pre-kindergarten teacher at the Buffalo school district’s BUILD Academy read:

‘Several children in Pre-K ages 3-4 are coming to school (sometimes daily) with soiled, stained, or dirty clothes. Some give off unpleasant smells and some appear unclean and unkept.

‘It is a health and safety concern. It also makes it difficult for me to be close to them or even want to touch them. Enough said.’

Furious parents have said the teacher, who has not been named, should exercise more compassion for those in the Buffalo community, where almost 30 per cent of the population live below the poverty line.  More

Man who faked his death to avoid prison gets prison

A Minnesota man trying to avoid a prison sentence  for an $11.5 million insurance fraud decided to fake his own death, but he was  found out and sentenced on Monday to 12 years and eight months in prison.

In May 2011, Travis Scott pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of money laundering after filing a false insurance claim.

As part of  the claim, he received $9.5 million for losses and got another $1.9 million for business interruption.

In order to convince people he was dead, Scott ground up some of his teeth, extracted pints of his own blood and pulled out pieces of his hair.  Full Article

N. Carolina foster parents arrested after boy found handcuffed to porch with dead chicken around neck

UNION COUNTY, North Carolina – Authorities arrested foster parents – including one who is a social services worker – after finding an 11-year-old boy handcuffed to a porch with a dead chicken around his neck, according to NBCnews.com.

An officer who was responding to an animal complaint at a neighboring house spotted the boy and went to investigate. He found the child cuffed at his ankle with the chicken draped around his neck, the report said.

After searching the home, authorities removed five children, ages 14, 13, 11, 9 and 8, from the home and began a criminal investigation. Neglected pets also were taken from the home.

Suspected Cannibal Ate Victim's Heart And Tongue, Police Say

French police are crying cannibalism after a man in southern France allegedly cut out a man's heart and tongue with the intention of eating them.

Police in Nouilhan arrested a 26-year-old homeless man late Thursday night. According to local outlets, the man is accused of breaking into a 90-year-old's home and bashing in his skull with a metal tool from the resident's barn. Investigators say the man then set fire to the corpse, cut out the victim's heart and tongue and may have cooked them, Le Parisien reports.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered a calcinated body, along with some cooked meat and white beans on a plate.

After the 26-year-old fled the home, he allegedly assaulted a man on a tractor, breaking his shoulder. As the police narrative goes, he then entered another home and managed to grab a shotgun before he was chased out by the owner.

Officers were able to find the man and arrested him shortly before midnight. During his arrest, he reportedly acted "very calm" and "not aggressive."

It's not immediately clear whether the man actually cooked or ate the body parts. However, from his statements, authorities say there is reason to believe he cooked and ate the 90-year-old's heart and tongue, Le Nouvel Observateur reports.

"It would seem he acted because of voices, messages that he was receiving and that were telling him to act in this way. Those are his first statements,” local prosecutor Chantal Firmigier-Michel told the Agence France-Presse. Read more here!

Woman’s Ear Turns Black And Dissolves After Poisonous Spider Bite

AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS – A 22-year-old Dutch woman came back from an Italian vacation with an unwanted souvenir – a bite from a venomous spider, according to LiveScience.com.

She sought treatment at an Italian hospital for pain in her ear and swelling on her face, but was unable to find relief.

Once she got back home to The Netherlands, her ear got worse: part of it turned black, meaning the skin and cartilage was dead.

Doctors determined the culprit was a Mediterranean recluse spider, whose bite is known to destroy skin and underlying fat.  Full Article

Man buys house next to ex-wife, erects giant middle finger statue

Orchard Lake, Michigan - Nothing quite communicates the wrath of a scorned lover like the middle finger.

But in Bloomfield Hills, this middle finger is loud and proud in the form of a near 12-foot high statue one man erected next door to his ex-wife.

Alan Markovitz recently moved into the  home where the statue was erected, which happens to be next to the home where his ex-wife now lives with her new lover, whom she reportedly had an affair with while being married to Markovitz.

Markovitz tells Fox 2′s Randy Wimbley his plan was to get even the ex-wife’s new lover, and never meant for the matter be made  public.
 
However, it soon grabbed local attention when the ex-wife’s daughter posted a picture of the statue on twitter.  Full Article
