CodeRED Activation and Information

Information is from Decartur, IL City website.

The Macon County Emergency Telephone System Board, which includes the City of Decatur, has rapid emergency notification service called CodeRED®. The CodeRED® system has been used successfully for assisting with locating both endangered children and adults, gas leaks, chemical leaks, boil orders, school lock downs, armed intruders on foot in a specific area and many other uses.

The CodeRED® system is an extremely useful system saving emergency responders time and protecting citizens. The system uses the phone company databases and should have originally included all land line phones. By registering, you can insure you are on the emergency call list.

Residents are welcome and encouraged to enter their contact information for home, business, and mobile phones so they may be contacted by the system in the event of an emergency. Those who do not register their address and phone number MAY not be notified with CodeRED® in the case of an emergency. Registration is confidential, free, easy and information will be used for emergency notifications only.

Those who elect to have their contact information withdrawn, may submit the completed CodeRED® do not call form, but will not be notified on any CodeRED® emergency notifications after that time.
