The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On November 25th at 11:30 pm officers responded to a location in
Decatur in reference to a previous attempted robbery of a person that
occurred in the parking lot in front of the employment office at 757 W.
Pershing Rd.
The victim was working at the time, cleaning up trash in the
parking lot of this complex when he was approached by a w/m asking him
for money. When the victim told him he did not have money a second w/m
appeared from the west side of the building running at the victim. The
victim advised when he turned to look at the subject running at him the
first subject grabbed hold of his arm. The victim advised he pushed the
first w/m away from him, striking him with his fist. The victim
advised he then used his garbage picker and struck the second subject,
which ended the situation with both suspects running towards Pershing
Rd.
Both suspects were described as w/m’s, 18-20, #1 was approx. 603
wearing black pants and black boots. #2 was approx. 510 wearing all
black. The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this
crime.
